Selection Criteria
Under Review!CYQAA maintains a registry of experts at the rank of Professor and Associate Professor in various disciplines which is updated regularly.
The experts are selected for inclusion to the registry, after rigorous online research, which takes into consideration the following parameters:
It is noted that an important selection criterion for EEC members who participate in institutional evaluations is their experience in academic administration. Both Professors and Professors Emeriti with extensive experience in academic administration and with specializations relevant to the discipline of the department, may participate in EEC for institutional and departmental evaluations, respectively. The list for student welfare experts and experts for building and technological infrastructure is provided to the Agency from public universities and the Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus.
The minimum requirements for their inclusion in the list are the following:

- Teaching and research credentials
- Number of publications in international refereed journals in their discipline - Citations
- International rankings of their university departments
- Administrative experience
- External evaluation experience

Every year, professional associations of regulated professions are requested to provide the Agency with a list of their members as potential participants in the EECs. The minimum requirements for their inclusion in the list are the following:

Each year, public universities operating in Cyprus are requested to provide the Agency with a list of students, from all programs of study, as potential participants in the EECs. The requirements for inclusion in the list is, primarily, their academic performance.
CYQAA ensures the independence of the experts through the signing, on their behalf, of the “Statutory declaration confirming the absence of conflict of interest of the members of the external evaluation committees”.
The members of the EECs shall provide, if necessary, additional feedback to the Council following the institution's reply to confirm compliance with the standards.
