Christos Xenophontos

Christos Xenophontos was born in Nicosia in 1967, and graduated with a B.Sc. in Mathematics (High Honors, in 1991, from The College of William and Mary in Virginia, USA. He then obtained an M.Sc. (1993) and a Ph.D. (1996), both in Applied Mathematics, from the University of Maryland, Baltimore Co, USA. After working for some years in the US (1996-1997 The Ohio State University, 1997 - 2001 Clarkson University, 2001-2004 Loyola University MD) he returned to Cyprus and since then he is a faculty member of the University of Cyprus (2004 - 2009 Ass. Prof, 2009 - 2017 Assoc. Prof., 2017 - today Professor). He has been connected with the Center for Teaching and Learning of the University of Cyprus for the past 11 years, and he is a member of the Examination Board of the YUFE Bachelor.

His research interests lie in Numerical Analysis, and in particular the numerical solution of differential equations.
