Notification to CYQAA Regarding the Discontinuation of the Offering of Study
Programmes
The Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA), in the exercise of its responsibilities for quality assurance in higher education and with a view to maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on accredited study programmes, wishes to draw the attention of higher education institutions to the following:Institutions are required to notify the Agency in writing of any decision to discontinue offering an accredited study programme, irrespective of the expiry date of its accreditation.
Such notification should be submitted in a timely manner and should specify the title of the study programme, the date from which the admission of new students will cease, and the anticipated date of its definitive discontinuation.
Where students are already enrolled in the programme, institutions must ensure that they are able to complete their studies without disruption, in accordance with the terms and conditions applicable to their admission and studies, and must inform the Agency of the arrangements made in this regard.
Timely notification is essential to ensure that the status of accredited study programmes is accurately reflected on the Agency’s official website and to safeguard transparency and the provision of reliable information to current and prospective students and the wider public.
The Agency also calls upon institutions to provide information on any accredited study programmes that they have already ceased offering without previously notifying the Agency.
